Whether you are a hiker, biker or birder, Limpopo has something for you. Jump into action… Adventure awaits!

Limpopo is an outdoor-lover’s dream destination, whether you are a biker, hiker, birder or adventurer. So pack your bags and surrender to your adventurous spirit. Limpopo gets under your skin… and ADVENTURE AWAITS!

For those who want to escape from city life and hike through pristine wilderness areas, Limpopo has a zillion options from short hikes through azalea-filled gardens to 3-day slackpacking expeditions or longer and more strenuous wilderness trails. Think rugged mountains, sheer cliffs, rock pools, open grasslands or indigenous forest trails with ancient trees and waterfalls.

Grab your hiking boots and explore the rolling mountain landscapes and vulture colonies of the Waterberg and Blouberg or the 800 rock-art sites of Makgabeng. Or book for the wilderness trails in the Kruger National Park. Pack up your tent and hike in the mountain reserve of the Wolkberg Wilderness in Magoeboeskloof or walk the 2-5 day Dokolewa trail in Woodbush, the second largest indigenous forest in the country. For a hike free of the luggage, why not take the 3-day slackpacking option in the Kudu’s River Valley between Kurisa Moya Nature Lodge and Graceland Eco Retreat.

The afromontane forests are ancient, magical and a birder’s paradise. Book a guided outing with South Africa’s top local Bird Guide, David Letsoalo, or Paul Nkhumane to go birding in Woodbush Forest or Kurisa Moya’s Eco-trails. For the Soutpansberg and Northern Kruger birds, Limpopo Bird-guide, Samson Mulaudzi can help you find those elusive birds to tick off on your life list.

If that is not enough to entice you up North, Limpopo has a whole calendar of events for cyclists from the Kremetart race in the Soutpansberg to the Magoeba and Tour de Limpopo competitions for Bikers in Magoebaskloof. There are mountain bike trails from gentle family routes to adrenaline-filled adventure mountain bike tracks from the technical to the terrifying. Limpopo also offers great opportunities to cycle with wildlife and the Big-5.

Speaking of adrenaline, follow your adventurous heart to the Magoebaskloof Canopy Tour with its 11 ziplines over mountain gorges and waterfalls. If the high wire is not for you, how about gecko-ing, abseiling, tubing or kloofing with Magoebaskloof Adventures? Whichever way you get your adrenaline-fix, Limpopo has something for you. Whether it is mountain-climbing up sheer cliffs, caving, paragliding or hot-air ballooning, if you are yearning for a new challenge, jump into action and book your next adventure through LOVE LIMPOPO.
