Set against a backdrop of forests and mountains, holy lakes and sacred ruins, Shiluvari is the perfect base from which to explore Venda, the Land of Legend. The wonderful Ribola Art Route is nearby as well as the Ben Lavin Nature Reserve and Hangklip hiking trails. Thatched chalets are done out in unique Venda style and overlook the Albasini Dam and the mountains beyond. The main lodge has a wonderful laid-back feel, so if you don’t want to explore the walking trails with bird guide, Samson Mulaudzi, you can have a lazy day on the stoep or at the poolside.
