Stargaze hammock camp

Tucked into the Soutpansberg Mountains above Makhado in northern Limpopo, lies the Morning Sun Nature Reserve.  Think lush vegetation, dramatic rock faces with Verreaux Eagles nesting on the cliffs and waterfalls dropping down to rock pools.  Here you will find a unique bush camp where you can really get in touch with the beautiful natural landscapes around you. Ten colourful hammocks are strung up in a sociable circle just a stone’s throw away from a waterfall and burbling river.  Paraffin lanterns set the scene for a night under an open sky filled with stars, and only firelight on the faces of friends, sharing stories of the day’s hike through a verdant valley.  After a delicious poitjie dinner brought to you at the camp from the main lodge, you can listen to the night sounds and feel truly connected with nature and each other.  When at last you slip into your hammocks, tucked in under mosquito nets, the call of the bushbaby is your lullaby.
