Hike blouberg

Blouberg is often overlooked but also has so much to offer.  The Blouberg Reserve has one of the largest Cape Vulture Colonies in the clifftops as well as the highest vertical rock face in the country, called Moonshadow, which is popular with rock climbers.  The African Ivory Route Blouberg Cultural Camp is a charming hutted camp tucked into the mountainside with a lovely walk to the potholes for a refreshing dip or take a longer hike to the self-sufficient community at the top of the mountains.  Taking the less-travelled route takes you through dramatic mountain vistas, natural pools and the iconic Yellowwood Trees, where you can camp under the stars and enjoy the unspoilt beauty of this endless wild space.

Take a day tour of some of the 800 Rock Art Sites of the Makgabeng or spend the weekend at the Makgabeng Farm Lodge.  Stay at the AIR Blouberg Camp, the Blouberg Reserve or camp wild.
