If open skies, magnificent mountain scenery and the open trail are enough to make your spirit soar, head off to the 19 000 hectare Wolkberg Wilderness Reserve near Haenertsburg for a hike. Here, the Drakensberg meets the Strydpoort Mountains in dramatic splendour and hikers can walk for days through a remote, rugged and unspoilt wilderness, choosing their own routes.
